A cold album for a hot summer is what 600 Breezy delivered with his "Iceman edition 2."
I could've did this write up the day it dropped, but i didn't want to rush my thoughts on this project. I hold 600 breezy at an high-stander because of our history, I witnessed breezy do nothing but level up since the first time I heard em freestyle over T. I.'s "Top Back" track. We also worked together back in 2015 on his first project "Six0 Breez0" which took off and caught the attention of everyone including Drake.
I'm not gonna lie, it was definitely refreshing to hear some good quality gang banging "Drill Music" especially without auto tune. Some might get caught up his in his lifestyle and not catch the metaphors and punchlines. 600 Breezy has always been crazy with his word play, shit no lie he said some shit on this "Iceman Edition 2" that made me bring it back more than once.
24 Bars Part 4 - Produced by Lamar Womack & Hakeem Wallace. If you're familiar with any of the previous 24 Bars, then you knew Breezy was going to be talking some shit on this track. To even start the project off with this song was a statement and it set the tempo for the project. My Favorite line from the song is "This pistol on me like a piece of clothes I'm speaking tones" S/O to Womack and Hakeem on the production as well this beat was crazy.
Racked Up - Just feels like some Six0 Breez0 shit, its just hard. Good quality street music, 600 Breezy was talking some shit in the song "Bullets hitting his shoulder blades like a pat on the back" that's a tough bar and to follow up with "AR 15 flip a Tahoe, rip a axel like potholes" and if you're from Chicago you know the damage that this potholes do. My Favorite line from this song is "Fire you up, you Mr. Burns and now yo homie is Smithers."
GunShots - Produced by Onassis. The beat alone is hard but how it creeped on this beat it was perfect. 600 Breezy deliver was all net, he rode the beat like it was a skateboard. The creativity of the track is what I love the most. I can't wait to see this song performed live, it's going to rock any festival he's at. He made is own gun sound effects lol, its funny because I didn't expect it but those sound effects is what makes the song raw. My favorite line from this song is "Then we spin round glick glick glick boom how this B**** sound." Don't judge me on my spelling of a shooting gun sound effect by a human. S/O to Onassis on the production, he did his thing on this.
More Than Safe - Is one of my favorite songs from the project, 600 Breezy open the door to his life a little and let us look in for a good 4mins and 23 sec. He flipped his flow more than once in this song, these two verse were chill and relaxing but he reminded Iceman all the way through. The only thing about this song that I disliked was the shout out to that F***Boy DJ Akademiks but it doesn't take away from how great the song sound. My favorite line from this song is "These N**** fake pastors just like Murder Mase, If I was Death Row in the 90's would've murdered Mase."
Unique - I really enjoy when artist talk they shit, you can hear the comfort in their flow. This song is a straight vibe. Its like 600 Breezy flow on this song isn't as aggressive but he still attacks the beat like he normally does. He talking that shit all through the song, "This white girl got whipped up in Dawson's Creek" Aye the boy dawg for that. Then he come with "I had a bell at 19 they used to call me screech" he a dawg, you gotta open ya ears when you listen to him. Because he'll say some slick shit like "Residue all on my fingers had to use some bleach" Nasty!!! Ew!!! 600 Breezy walked all over this beat, he was smooth, real player like but he remained Iceman all the way through. My Favorite line from this song is "Not a farmer, play with chickens, Chop the white like OJ Simpson."
600 Breezy did his thang on this project, good quality street music. Iceman Edition 2 has 10 bangers on it, and he didn't let up on not one. Most artist in 600 Breezy position would've chased the radio hits, and followed today's trends but he fed his core fanbase what they wanted. He also gave us a taste of growth, which you can hear within his song writing. I'll keep Iceman Edition 2 in rotation until 600 Breezy drops another project which, I can't wait to hear. I gave you my thoughts on 5 out of the 10 tracks from 600 Breezy's Iceman Edition 2, I would love to hear your thoughts on it as well. So scroll down and listen to it, drop a comment let me know what you think of the entire project. #JonesWatChaOn
