Amon drops a soulful self produced record to cheer up a woman going through tough times
I haven’t heard something from Amon in quite some time, but today is perfect reintroduction to the talented San Diego emcee and producer.
He’s coming off an epic show with DJ Khaled, and is even Yes Juelz approved. There’s a good reason - in 47 weeks he’s dropped 47 songs. Yes, that’s right, one song a week for almost a year. Amon is outworking many of the most well renowned rappers in the game, and has gained a sizable following on Soundcloud and Twitter. Today he’s back with Substance, a soulful and empowered record infused with a sample from r&b artist Musiq. Amon hopes to cheer up a woman who is “going through it right now,” making sure she knows that she’s beautiful and worth any man’s time. A recent boyfriend did her wrong, and wants her to know she doesn’t deserve it. Another production credit comes from Amon, combing the aforementioned sample with some hard 808’s. Substance is an apt title for this song, and definitely worth giving a spin.
