Taylor Bennett drops an intimate new single with Bianca Shaw in which he airs out plenty of bars about simply being yourself, and living in your own right. The single is the title track from his forthcoming EP, “Be Yourself”, just in time for Pride month. Taylor effortless skates over the uptempo beat barely taking a breath, providing fluid flows making the track extremely pleasant to the ears, but Taylor’s flow isn’t the best part of the song, the story he tells is. Bianca Shaw also graces the track with her smooth vocals and powerful lyrics putting the icing on the cake. Together they’ve created an enjoyable and inspiring track for the summer.

As the most transparent song Taylor has ever released he gets really personal and intricately details events from his childhood, family dealings as well as his experience discovering his personal identity as not only a Black man in America, but also a Black bisexual man in America. The depth in detail peels back layers of societal norms that expose Taylor Bennett in his true light, ultimately allowing him to be himself, all while encouraging you to Be Yourself. After hearing this single I’m more than ready to hear what Taylor’s EP, “Be Yourself” will entail, I’m thirsty for more bars, more intimacy, more depth; I’m looking forward to hearing more about who Taylor Bennett is.
