It's only right to spend the new year speaking on what was a cultural shift for sounds in the city of Chicago.
When Acid Rap dropped, hats were tipped to Chance the Rapper all across the city and nation. He gained previous traction with releases such as 10 Day while also being heavily active on the arts scene. Along with taking pursuing other endevours, the (at the time) 20-year old Chance the Rapper grew to an independent icon right before our eyes. Acid Rap, houses the headlining singles such 'Juice', 'Cocoa Butter Kisses', and much more. BJ The Chicago, Twista, Nate Fox, Vic Mensa, are some of the names that assisted Chance deliver a classic tape. Turning over in to a new decade, it's only fair to highlight a project that still resonates in today's musical influence on the scene. Acid Rap embodies youth, cultural influence, hometown support, and so much more. Chance flips through rap, R&B, and his own play on alternative sound that made the mixtape stand out almost in a league of its own during the time of release. With that being said, Acid Rap is also available across major streaming platforms. Get in tune below, via Apple Music.
