By: Jimmie SykesTime to resurface a few classic gems, here’s ‘Cold Day in Hell’ by Freddie Gibbs
There’s a lot of mixtapes in the all-time great collection that most people slept on in my opinion. As a music lover, and mixtape junkie, I’m here to resurface some of the few mixtapes that are in my slept on gems.
Freddie Gibbs absolutely delivered on this tape. On Cold Day in Hell, Gibbs spoke on his day to day guilty pleasures, the leisure life as “Gangsta Gibbs”, songs you can vibe out to, and songs where you reminisce on the loss of a loved one. Gibbs hit his audience with so many flavors that you can’t help but to spin this tape all the way through. With production by the likes of Cardo, Big KRIT, and the Justice L.E.A.G.U.E, Freddie Gibbs delivered what is, in my opinion, his best work. He has nice features on the listing too, from the likes of Young Jeezy, 2Chainz, and Dom Kennedy. If you haven’t heard this gem, spin it below for me. If you have, spin it below for me. Year Released: 2011 Favorite Tracks: Anything to Survive ft. Young Jeezy, Menance II Society ft. Dom Kennedy, Natural High, Neighborhood H*es ft. 2Chainz
