By: Liam LopezChicago welcomes Sylvan LaCue for his first ever headliner in our city! A night to remember as Sylvan LaCue’s Loner Tour rolled through Chicago this past Wednesday presenting his first ever headliner for fans in and around the Chicago area. The Wire located just outside of Chicago, in Berwyn, was home to not only just a special night for Sylvan, but for everyone who attended as performances were electric keeping the energy on edge all night. Oakland’s very own, Elujay, and the Rhode Island favorite, Khary, both delivered extremely notable sets by connecting with the audience and winning over an always difficult Chicago crowd. By doing so, the ice was broken for Miami native to deliver and that he did as Sylvan LaCue officially set the standard for what a great performance is. As I took a glance around the venue, I noticed photographers weren't taking photos, security wasn’t really securing, but all eyes locked in on Sylvan as he commanded the stage like a veteran; an ode to what a great performer can do to a crowd. Sylvan LaCue's set was a mixed bag of tracks from recent work Far From Familiar and his breakout project Searching Sylvan, but once Hunger began, Sylvan took to the crowd moshing and bringing energy to a peak. The Loner Tour was a success for its Chicago fans thanks to such a fun filled night by Elujay, Khary, and Sylvan LaCue and I for one cannot wait to welcome them to our home in the near future!
