Everyday Jay: Who is Swain?
Swain: Swain is authentic, super cool, down to earth, flawed, talented, and 1 of 1. I could get deep but we don’t have the time. I heard he smoke a lot of weed and write dope ass V’s Everyday Jay: As a artist what inspires you? Swain: Life and energy. I write music mostly through experiences and the way I feel at the time I’m writing. Other artist as well to be honest I love seeing niggaz put on for the culture and making impacts. Everyday Jay: You’ve released Chapters 1-3 of your Dedicated To You collection. Explain the creative process behind these releases. Swain: Each one is from a certain time in my life. Everything was recorded a year ago. Chapter 1, was me bouncing back from a crucial L. When I finally got in the mind state of recording this was the result. Chapter 2, is me trying to maintain my life in Chicago. As you know shit can get hectic here so you know you gotta pray and live your life accordingly. Chapter 3, is strictly about love and lust. Doing that time frame I had multiple women in my life, so each song is an ode to those women. Tell em to thank me later. Everyday Jay: Is this leading up to a special release? Swain: Yea, Still Painting is in the finishing stages. It’s a special portrait of my life, family, friends, love, and pain. No release dates yet, but I gotta lot of shit to drop for y’all. Everyday Jay: Who would you like to collaborate with artist/producer and why? Swain: I’m shooting to get YP on SP. I like bro flow, and his story talks about situations in my life. Lil Keisha, Richie Wes, Joel Q, man it’s a lot bro but we’ll get to it eventually. Everyday Jay: Let’s switch it up a little bit. It’s been a stressful week how does Swain find the beauty in the shit? Swain: Just the fact that I could wake up and think about the beauty in this shit. Life is precious treat it as such. Everyday Jay: What’s something you hope to accomplish thru your music? Swain: Buying a big ass mansion so my family can be one again, make people feel comfortable in the skin their in, cause everything isn’t easy to talk about. So I speak for those. Everyday Jay: As we wrap this Q&A up can you just speak directly to our audience and just speak your mind for a second? Swain: You gon see a lot of shit in life, so just chose something to learn about. Become passionate about it, smoke some weed, and think of how to bring your dreams to reality. One thing I’m a tell y’all is find your true core and follow it. Chase happiness and God, everything else will fall in line.
