From Basketball Courts to Billboard Charts: Boo Discusses His Legendary Hip-Hop Journey On iLLANOiZE Radio
In this episode, we had the pleasure of catching up with the talented hip-hop artist and entrepreneur, Boo. Throughout our interview, we delved into his early days and the origins of his music career. Boo revealed that his initial passion lay in basketball, where he frequently played alongside his childhood friend and NBA legend, Corey Maggette.

An intriguing anecdote Boo shared was about a chance encounter with Chicago's renowned singer, songwriter, and producer, R. Kelly. This meeting marked the inception of Boo's rap career, despite his prior lack of experience in the genre. Additionally, Boo recounted witnessing the final stages of R. Kelly's 1998 album, "R ", and how this exposure influenced his journey. He recounted forming the duo "Vegas Cats" with Roy Hamilton and securing a spot on R. Kelly's "We Ride" track alongside industry heavyweights like Cam'ron, Nore, and Jay-Z.
Furthermore, Boo elaborated on his experiences learning from and collaborating with R. Kelly, as well as meeting his subsequent music partner, Gotti. He detailed the formation of their duo and the dedication they invested in their craft. Boo also shared their transition to becoming artists under Cash Money Records, facilitated by their encounter with Birdman.

Touching on his involvement in the Down South classic "So Icy," which ignited the infamous feud between Jeezy and Gucci, Boo discussed his decision to step back from the music scene and pivot towards entrepreneurship. He expressed gratitude towards his childhood friend and business partner, "Gym Shoe," for unwavering support throughout his music career.
Boo expressed his desire to reciprocate this support, culminating in the establishment of "Flee Club Chicago," a prominent shopping and retail destination in the city. Overall, our conversation with Boo provided fascinating industry insights and a profound appreciation for his journey in the music business.
