Following the success of singles with the likes of Vic Spencer, ILL Gordon finally drops his sophomore album #Barzondeck
ILL Gordon isn't trendy, and uses no gimmicks. This is exactly why his sophomore LP #Barzondeck is one of the strongest projects out of Chicago this year.
To back up - ILL has had a long and prosperous career. He's opened for the likes of Black Milk, The Lox, Talib Kweli, and many more. ILL has stayed consistent over the span of his career, both as a solo artist and as a member of the group SUBSTANCEMUZIK. To be frank: #Barzondeck is a masterpiece. It's creative, well engineered, and ILL at his very best. Of course the bars are plentiful, but it's most notable feature is his honesty. In a world where songs are made for clout, play counts, and ultimately money, ILL goes in the opposite direction to provide the substance hip hop is missing. His right hand man, producer Reg Vader, provides the funk, soul, and bass heavy drums to compliment ILL's tenacity on the mic. There are a few features, picked carefully. I highly recommend you give this a spin, download, and most importantly a donation on BandCamp below. Support good music.
