J-Hop crafts melodic "EMPT'd" as the single for his upcoming "70V" project.
Coming off his 7Days project which premiered through Mass Appeal in 2016, the STL native brings pace and introspection on his newest track. Hop opens the song with the chorus, "I don't know where I'm going this minute, but when I find my vision, no more ridin' on low." He seems to be reflecting on hard times in his city equating the emptiness he feels to a tank of gas running on empty while driving.
Rapping in and out of Charles Lauste produced drums and calm keys, Young Hoppa explains these drifting thoughts, "Fell in the love with the money, I'm ramblin' now, my mind scrambling now, but I can't talk about it now." Letting the listener into his mind, he continues through the verse, "Long drives for therapy- it's these moments I'm cherishing" showing how his mind may be wandering but the open road provides a sense of comfort for the 23-year old emcee. Showing maturity in his sound and deep thought with the single, it's shaping to be a special summer for J-Hop. The "Get Rich With Your Friends "member seems to be on his way to delivering a special project. Peep "EMPT'd below and make sure to keep an eye out for 70V this summer. FOLLOW J-HOP
