By Julie S.After dropping his best project yet, Kur links with Eline the MC for a fresh new visual Philly is coming into it's own on the hip hop tip. One of the city's brightest MC's is without question Kur. His breakthrough mixtape Broken Dreams dropped years ago, but after linking with Dave East last year on a full LP, he finally got the attention he deserved. Kur's most impressive full length to date is the 180 project released just a few months ago. His most passionate record off the tape was UPN, named after the historic broadcast network. This tidbit is import to the track - as Kur recently told Fader that he grew up he watching the station with his sister. This nostalgia is integrated into UPN, as he takes us back to his struggles on the come up. His career often seemed bleak, but he never lost confidence that he'd become successful. He trades fierce bars with Eline the MC, and neither outshine the other. The actual visual, directed by Rick Nyce, is a perfect representation of everything UPN stands for. There are artistic shots overlooking Philly, and Kur around his day 1's in pretty gritty conditions. You can stream his latest video below. Also don't forget to checkout his project "180."
