MFn Melo delivers assertive "Seeing Faces" with uncanny confidence and raw feeling.
Another member of Pivot Gang still riding the post-tour success, MFn Melo drops his single "Seeing Faces" in anticipation for his long-awaited MeloDramatics project. Melo opens the track showing his lyrical prowess, "Big n**** I run it, I know how ironic that sounds" and continues the first verse with conviction stating, "I'm tryin' to run it up, po-po tryin' gun me down, how? You cool to be runner-up, me and gang run it now." Melo makes weaving in and out of pocket with his rhymes seam effortless as the beat cruises along.
Coupled with grungy production by Vzn, Melo shows off his ability to hit the track with power and emotion, dedicating the song to the Prince of Pivot, John Walt whose life was taken tragically just under 3 months ago . On the contagious hook Melo explains, "I been working like I'm not from here, and just trying to see some better places, got some n***** currently not here, God took em' or they caught some cases." The tone is dark and deep, and fittingly so after experiencing a tragedy of losing a loved one. Melo displays awareness toward the bigger picture and illustrates his thoughts well into his lyrics. MFn just performed at Lincoln Hall on April 30th and has more shows yet to be announced. Make sure to keep an eye out for "MeloDramatics" this summer. Follow MFn Melo
