Previously on illanoize radio, MFNMelo of pivot gang stops by for an exclusive and much needed interview. PIVOT Gang is an extremely influential creative collection that has become an important part of Chicago culture, specifically the west side. MfnMelo gave great insight during this interview about himself and the work that Pivot Gang has done.

This was by far one of the most transparent interviews to date as MFNMelo begins by speaking on his latest body of work, "En Route," a joint EP with the late and great Squeak of Pivot Gang who unfortunately passed summer 2021. Melo speaks on the process of creating En Route with Squeak and how he’s had to adjust to life without Squeak who was his personal DJ, producer and above all friend. He tells Bekoe and PrettyRiot about his experience performing since the passing and how different it is.

On a lighter note Melo speaks on his daughter, his love for cooking and the importance of giving back to the community. Many of the community efforts Melo & PIVOT Gang are involved in is due to the John Walt Foundation in memorandum of another late Pivot Gang member John Walt, who was known for giving back to his community in more ways than just one. PIVOT Gang has continued to honor his legacy by carrying out various community service initiatives on the city’s west side.
