Sensei Dre debuts a new project.
Sensei Dre is a rapper out of Aurora, Illinois and he is someone everyone should be watching out for! Today he dropped his first mixtape, “Live Free / Soul’d Out”, and let me tell you, he did not disappoint!! This 14 track mixtape takes your through the mind of a creative artist! Sensei Dre allows you to enter his Dojo, if you dare!
Right from the first track, “Golden”, he is spitting mad bars! The way Sensei Dre can switch his flow on any beat is pretty remarkable! “Mentally Blind”, is one of the smoothest flowing tracks on the tape! The picture that Sensei paints for the listeners is very clear and distinct! One of my favorite tracks to vibe out to on this project is “Get Away (ft. Nathan King)”! These two have come together to make multiple jams in the past! Most recently, Nathan King’s track “Enough ft. (Sensei Dre)” was posted on pages such as Elevator, Mindset Music, and ILLANOIZE. The duo did not let us down! Sensei Dre and fellow Aurora native Young J came together to bring some heat on the track “Goin Up”. This is a track to definitely bump while driving to work in the morning! The switch from conscious rap to something a little different comes at the track “Change Up”. The more upbeat, fast-paced, in your face, and dance to this jam style rapping is shown in full effect here! “Addicts Anthem” is one of Sensei Dre’s favorite tracks on the whole tape! I have had the pleasure of seeing him perform this live, and this man can really spit all those bars! I had the chance to catch up with Sensei Dre before the release of the tape, and besides “Addicts Anthem” his other favorite track on this tape was “Weekend (ft. E.R.T)”. The two have come together to collaborate in the past, and make a great combo! They produced a fire track called, “Swish Wrist”, which debuted on E.R.T’s EP “Sophomore Slump” earlier in the summer! This jam right here has probably the catchiest hook and chorus of the whole tape! If you’re not singing it by the end, then check your pulse! My personal favorite of the whole tape is “Lay Low”. The way Sensei delivers his message in this song is remarkable. I genuinely enjoyed this track! The flow, lyrics, beat, style, just everything about this jam! Whatever you do, do not sleep on the track “Clumsy Jeweler” either, the kid spits mad bars!! Sensei Dre wanted to make special shout out to his team Revere Music Group or RMG as you might hear during the tape. RMG is an Independent label based out of Aurora lead by Pablo Del Toro. He wanted to thank his sponsor Versi Co. for always being there for him! Sensei Dre also wanted to give a special shout out to all the producers, Young J, Nathan King, and E.R.T for bringing the tape to life with awesome features! Finally, he wanted to personally say thank you to some of the games up and comers right now, Chance the Rapper, Saba, Supa Bwe, Smino, and Alex Wiley for all the motivation! Tracklist: 1. Golden 2.
