Bekoe shows his true artistry as he headlines Wire located in Berwyn, Illinois for "Sumthn Diffrnt" Live.

iLLANOiZE presented "Sumthn Diffrnt Live" at The Wire on November 6, 2016, and it was indeed something different that only people who are artistically rich will appreciate. The purpose of this show was to allow everybody to hear Bekoe's latest EP entitled "Sumthn Diffrnt " live, which I’ll say, was a clever idea.

E.R.T & Lil Botchie. performance definitely had the crowd turned up off of "Trap Bandicoot." The energy level was at an all time high on the stage, you had no choice but to bounce around with them when that beat dropped.

Shawn Wright performances is always captivating to me because his stage presence is very humble and it speaks to me in a way that I can’t exactly word. The way he packages himself and feeds it to the audience is what gives me life at his performances. From his gritty track titled "Big Dawg" to his sexy track titled "Sensual High," featuring the beautiful Brianna Brock, displays his versatile artistry. He also reveals a little of himself on stage when he had the crowd chanting “FUCK TRUMP!” classic, epic moment.

What was so special about this show is the flexibility in allowing artist to exercise their creativity. Many of the indie artist show cases that I’ve been to, was the typical set up; there’s a DJ to play your music as you perform, a very basic host that does not engage with the audience, and some very bright lights. But Bekoe takes the cake by bringing out his very talented graphic designer J Spazz to display some graphics in the background as the performances parade on. Illinois Jones as the host which is absolutely hilarious and crowd interaction is off the chain. And different DJ sets including: Dj Freddy B Heavy Hitter, DJ TreyIllz, Mz JQ, and DJ AJAY.

Since we are on the topic of Sumthn Diffrnt, Nikki Hayes gave out a very nice performance which takes you back to the 90’s era with the back up dancers and some quality R&B. Just when I thought the R&B game was depleting, Nikki Hayes brought her A game that night and sung her butt off. This was indeed another performance that was worth every 15 minutes of your time. Her stage presence and humbleness was the first captivating bullet point to her performance. Without stage presence and genuine love for what you do, you have nothing.

To end the show with a bang, Bekoe’s talented DJ; DJ Trey Illz, his amazing band and the light show, built up the crowd anticipation to one of his hit songs; “Toast” featuring Ross Augusta. Everything about that introduction was beautiful! I absolutely LOVE his band and that night his drummer and saxophonist really showed their behind. It will literally put in you mindset of a actual concert that a celebrity would put together. That shows you where Bekoe’s mindset is which is nothing compared to the average artist. "Intuition" was my favorite performance, you can just feel the band making love to the instrumentals, it was very captivating.
