Closed Sessions Artist Kweku Collins Debuts His New Album.
Illinois residing, Kweku Collins, supplies us with his album, "Nat Love", and I must say, the whole thing is quite the invigorating experience! The entire vibe, concept, and overall style of this musical formation and this artists idea is novel. It stands out among most music done in this time!
Opening with a 2 minute intro, with the piano, that was actually mentioned, was so artistic. The beat dropped and the lyrical flow was rather unexpected, but exceptional at the same time! In fact Kweku exuded great talent in every track considering the instrumentals and compositions used were notably unique and seemingly challenging in terms of timing and structure. Not really needing to be said, the production is top notch! Featuring artists such as Jamila Woods in "Ego Killed Romance"; which was featured on iLLANOiZE recently, and Taylor Bennett on "Vanilla Skies", who as well has been accentuated on the site, were proper and added just the right touch. All artists vocals made for a singular sound! Lyrically I must admit that I could not make out every word clearly, however the poetic effusions that were distinct, were concocted in such a future forward and visionary manner. Kweku Collins style may even come off as a bit weird at first listen, but it's pleasantly different and tends to wear on its listeners. Commercially speaking, I would say it definitely has enormous potential! It's indie essence and hip-hop understructure gives a new fangled wave to harmonized construction, and with an open mind is, in all respects, enjoyable! Collins is one to be looking out for in the near future! Check it out below and spread the NOiZE! Upcoming EventsLocation: Reggies Rock Club
