Kansas City's Sauce drops a enthralling summer concept album in Summer Sauce 

Concept albums are few and far between. I haven’t heard many in the underground scene, especially in the summer when the weather is hot and the days go by quickly. I was happy to find just that in Summer Sauce, the newest EP from Kansas City emcee Sauce.

One look at the album art and you’ll get a sense of what’s to come. SS is centered around Sauce’s desire to be with a woman he feels strongly about. Each song takes us through the stages of their relationship, and the time they spend together. Sauce is an incredible rapper, and his storytelling keep me enthralled throughout the full 6 tracks. The EP is not all about her; he also reflects on his upbringing, and deep emotions.

It features Kendrick Lamar and Tech N9NE collaborator Gee Watts, along with producer/rapper Duncan Burnett. Duncan keeps the project cohesive, as he produced every track except Childhood Crush, provided by M. Fasol. Peep the full EP below and add on Apple Music here.
