Smino unloads a silky new must hear album.
I remember when I would record at Classick Studio's located on Chicago's westside. I'd always bump into Smino and we'd converse about music and production. Until this day I still laugh at how when we first met, I asked for his social media and the first platform he told me to follow was his SoundCloud. Of course during this time which was back in 2014, he didn't have much music to offer.
Low and behold, 2015 hits and Smino delivers a 3 track Ep titled "S!ck S!ck S!ck," which premiered via Pigeons and Planes. From there his single "Ruby Red" produced by none other then Monte Booker, instantly became a fan favorite. Now let's fast forward to 2016 which is the year Smino delivered his breakout EP known as "Blkjuptr." This was his second project that landed a premiere on The Fader. Smino's hit single BlkJuptr went from him being a native of St. Louis, to selling out shows in the U.S, as well as touring overseas in Europe. As of today we officially receive a full LP, that was mix and master by Classick's engineer Elton Chueng, who's been behind the likes of Chance The Rapper, and so much more creative talent including myself. Smino's album represent's Love, Life, Soul, black culture and most importantly the beautiful creation of our black women. His single "Anita" explains just that! Overall Chris Smith aka Smino Brown delivers a passionate album with feature from passionate artist such as Ravyn Lenae who recently inked a deal with Atlantic Records, as well as Jean Deaux, Bari, The Mind, Jay2, Via Rosa, Drea Smith, and Noname. His album represents staying true to yourself as an artist and he also represent St. Louis in a way many will respect! Experience "BlkSwn" below and spread the NOiZE! You can also stream on Spotify and Apple Music.
