Rising artist, $wank $inatra says the influence of his stage name came from New York rapper, Joey Bada$$ and musical legend, Frank Sinatra. He says he wrote to Joey Bada$$’s song “Hilary Swank” and it inspired him to change his name to “Swank” and he’s a fan of Frank Sinatra so he put the two together. What stands out the most is the spelling with his name, he says he wanted to be different so he used the dollar signs.
$wank grew up on the Southside of Chicago and has been doing music as a child but his first recording was when he was 12 years old. $wank says that he started rapping with friends and since he’s been consistent with making music it has made his support system grow. “I love my fans like family and I like to build relationships with them because I appreciate them and that’s gone help me grow….” There’s no doubt that the “$wank Gang” has a strong presence on social media. $wank Sinatra believes that if he stay confidence in his craft he’ll be undefeated in any challenges that try to hold him back.
