Unorthodox duo The Peanut Gallery release their second groovy single off upcoming album Tales From The Basement
Groovy hip hop is one of my favorite subgenres. It's definitely hard to pull off - and even more difficult to push boundaries and make it modern enough to grab some attention.
New Jersey duo The Peanut Gallery aren't afraid to experiment with synths, R&B, and a little bit of experimental grooves. They've done just that with their second single Time Flies By. The group is made up of Orlando and Flee Jones, and although they bring different things to the table, they compliment one another with their individual skills. While this may not be a track for everyone, give it a chance and after a few listens you might change your mind. I appreciated the out of the box, but great instrumental from Apollo V. The autotune/distorted vocals don't stay in 2007 when it was most prominent, making Time Flies by an interesting listen. This is the second single from upcoming project Tales From The Basement which I'm excited to give a spin.
