Scottie Pippen was drafted number 5 overall in the 1987 draft by the Seattle SuperSonics and dealt to the Chicago Bulls in exchange for Olden Polynice (who?) lol Olden was a solid player but he never leveled up like Scottie would. Fast forward to the end of his rookie contract were Pip signed a 7 year $18 million dollar contract which doesn’t sound bad right, but in reality, the long term deal would result in the Bulls taking care of the Bulls #2 man for years to come but clearly into the last year of his contract he and the world stressed how underpaid he truly was. Now the true lesson in this story is betting on yourself and throwing your safety net out of the window. We all get trapped in the comfort zone of a steady paycheck and security and yeah this may keep a roof over our heads but in most cases it tramples over our true dreams. Growth is scary but very necessary to achieve greatness just remember to bet on yourself but at the same time family comes first.
