Torey delivers nothing but dope vibes.
The artist formally known by T. Gaines makes a change for the better with introducing his new stage name TOREY. Even with the name change, the artist’s sound continues the course from his last release The Groove God which was featured by sites such as HipHopDX, Pigeons and Planes, and The Source to name a few.
You Know I sounds as if it’s TOREY’s graduation moment to the next plateau. An original orchestrater from the last project appears in DJ from The Innov8s which helps propel the EP to new heights. The EP gives the vibe one of an artist telling the first part to a potential two part story. Tracks such as “Chocolate Queen” & “So Difficult” gives listeners the chance to hear TOREY’s rhythm & blues side. Other tracks such as “Back Up” & “That Good” displays the artist ability to hold a note but also destroy a 16 bar verse. The single is “Player” which allows listeners to enter a world that only one Hugh Hefner would really enjoy, switches the vibe of the EP to an instant party starter. Regardless of your feeling for the day rather smooth or on the edge You Know I delivers a sound that all can relate to. There's more to come from TOREY in the near future, but this EP will hold your attention for now. Check it out below!
